In a significant development, Nigerian Army troops from 1 Division have intensified their operations in Kaduna State, successfully neutralizing insurgents and recovering arms and ammunition in the areas of Igabi, Giwa, and Birnin Gwari Local Government. The operation was a response to recent insurgent attacks on civilians, aiming to eliminate the threat and provide relief to the affected communities.

During a fighting patrol along Maganda-Dausayi - Mugaba axis, troops faced insurgents employing rustled herds of cattle as shields. In a fierce hour-long firefight, two insurgents were neutralized, and a significant cache of weapons was recovered, including an AK 47 rifle, ammunition, a Techno phone, and more. Unfortunately, some rustled livestock used by the insurgents were caught in the crossfire.

In a separate operation along the Kaduna - Birnin Gwari Road, troops successfully ambushed marauding insurgents, neutralizing six of them. The recovered loot included AK 47 rifles, ammunition, and motorcycles. Intelligence sources suggest that notorious bandit kingpin Boderi, responsible for high-profile kidnappings, was killed alongside another kingpin, Bodejo, in the ambush.

Efforts are underway to authenticate this information through other means. The public is urged to continue cooperating with the Nigerian Army and security agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorism and insurgency.
